Today, I saw
The crocuses poking
Out of the dead leaves on the ground.
Greenery! Life!
A reminder that
Spring is coming.
After the long, harsh
Winter, dark and cold,
The opposite of dormancy is best.
Purple and yellow,
Green and brown.
An emergence from depression
As the world once again
Comes alive.
The sun is no longer hibernating.
